The Grey Squirrel - in the village on Pine Knot Avenue. Excellent, but on the expensive side. Wonderful for a special occasion.

Grizzly Manor - informal coffee shop has superb breakfast ... small, local and colorful. Located on Big Bear Blvd. across from the middle school.

The Cowboy Express Steak House - on Lakeview Drive is good for ribs, steak, chicken, onion loaf, etc.

Captain's Anchorage - just off Big Bear Blvd. on Moonridge Road. Superb steak, salad bar, fish ... cozy. Walking distance from Starvation Flats Ranch (less than 1 mile).

La Montana - next to Captain's Anchorage. Has good Mexican food, bar, patio seating.

Ichiban - at the corner of Fox Farm Road and Big Bear Blvd. If you like Sushi and tempura, this is the place. Also walking distance from Starvation Flats Ranch (about 1/2 mile).

Mountain Munchies - in the center of the Stater Bros. shopping center. Awesome sandwiches and soups to eat there or pack for a picnic by the lake.
